Lørenskog now has a new meeting point for entrepreneurs, businesses and knowledge communities. After a year of planning, the Lius start-up and knowledge centre will officially open the doors to its brand new premises at Skårersletta 65 on 15 December - just in time for the Christmas rush.
- This house will be a vibrant meeting place for ideas, relationships and new opportunities - right here in the heart of Lørenskog," says Mona Lunde Martinsen, CEO of Lørenskog i Utvikling.
Lius is an initiative run by Lørenskog i Utvikling and Romerike Sparebank, which together have a vision of an innovative arena for business and community development in Lørenskog, with a short route to the resources that make it possible to achieve more together. «When we gather good forces under the same roof, you get everything you need in one place, and we get closer to the everyday lives of people and businesses. Lius makes us more accessible - for small questions, big ambitions and everything in between,» smiles Siri Berggreen, Managing Director of Romerike Sparebank.
With a total of 1,700 square metres of modern workspaces, an amphitheatre for events and flexible zones for both concentration and creativity, Lius will be a new hub in the centre of Lørenskog.
«At Lius, we get up in the morning to create value and jobs locally. At the same time, we help to lift the region, our country and the world we live in,» says Kim Hamli, General Manager at Lius.
A milestone for Lørenskog - and for the project
The opening marks the end of a large-scale development phase and the start of a whole new chapter for local businesses. The initiative is the result of a collaboration in which both the private sector and the municipality have played a key role.
Lius will offer breakfast meetings, theme nights, workshops, coaching programmes and social events - all tailored to promote competence, collaboration and innovation. There is room for growth, and for sharing experiences across industries and disciplines.
- "The prerequisites for further growth and new, exciting partnerships are very good, and we are looking forward to seizing the opportunities that lie ahead of us at Lørenskog," says Managing Partner of Halvorsen & Co, Lotte Lundby Kristiansen.
New co-located partners - and more on the way
Among the companies moving into the new premises are:
- Lørenskog in Development
- Romerike Sparebank
- Law firm Halvorsen & Co
- Active property brokerage
- A to Z Accounting
- Brectus
- Benchmark
- Mobit
- Solid Recruitment
In addition, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Norway will contribute actively as a partner in the initiative, with a particular focus on inclusion and social sustainability. - Coca-Cola is also our coffee partner, through Costa Coffee, and we know that a good cup of coffee is often the start of both good conversations, ideas and collaboration in a busy working day. As a neighbourhood partner, Triaden helps to connect business, commerce and culture in Lørenskog, creating new opportunities for collaboration. Through the partnership with Lius, the doors are opened for pop-up events, entrepreneurial tours and initiatives that allow local businesses to meet customers in a new way.
Several new companies are already in dialogue about space at Lius, and the number of businesses in various industries is growing all the time. As of now, around ten entrepreneurs have secured workspace at Lius. We're incredibly proud of this - but at the same time it's important to emphasise that we have room for more.
Official celebration on 12 December
The official opening will take place on 12 December, with Amine Mabel Andresen, Mayor of Lørenskog, cutting the ribbon. The first working day at Lius is a few days later, on 15 December. That's when we open the doors. Feel free to drop by, start with a coffee, and see where the day takes you. Information about events at Lius is published at http://www.lius.no.
