Traffic accident with serious head injury
The young girl suffered a serious head injury. As a result, she was unable to complete her planned IT training programme and became fully disabled. The injured party suffered a major financial loss.
The liable insurance company was uncooperative in this case. Throughout the proceedings and before the district court, the company denied that she had completed a higher education in IT and consequently held a relevant job in this industry. During the proceedings, only NOK. 140,000 in advance, which made the injured party's financial situation very difficult.
A lawsuit was filed. The company then offered compensation of NOK. 2 million. The injured party did not accept this and Aust-Agder District Court awarded her total compensation of NOK 5.4 million. 5.4 million, as well as legal costs. In the judgement, she agreed that she would have taken a higher education.
